It is here that the Bug enters the territory of Poland and from here it is a border river for almost 400 km. The launching site is quite close to the asphalt road, although you have to leave this road at the tourist shelter, immediately turn into the dirt road to the left and drive 300 m. Those who would like to kayak to the furthest possible point must kayak 3 km upstream to the border post No. 820 and inform the Border Guard about this. On the Polish side from the very beginningyou are accompanied by the Dołhobyczów Protected Landscape area, which from Kryłów passes into the Bug River Protected Landscape Area.
Through this area you can kayak almost to Horodło. The nearest inhabited place on the way there is an unusual a village (formerly a town). It is worth spending more time here to explore the area. The place is very well prepared in terms of tourism. Here there are many informational boards that allow you to delve into the history, nature and traditions of this place. To get here, it is only necessary to kayak less than 10 km. It is worth to mention the Catfish Festival in Prehoryl, where the struggles of fishermen are accompanied by celebrations. There’s also The Fair of Folk Artists and Culinary Arts, a regular event, during which traditions related to the Easter holidays are passed on. It’s a good idea to check the calendar in advance to plan your arrival in the region so as to take part in one of the regional events.
