This is the only place on the entire length of our kayaking route on the Bug that may be dangerous – be very careful when in this area. This is the passage under the railway bridge in Dorohuskwhich can be recognised easily because of the great block sculpture on the bridge on the Ukrainian side, visible from a distance. The river turns a little to the left, while the currentpulls to the right. Under the bridge there are elements of the old bridge in the form of concrete blocks and steel structures which can leave you with a bit of a riddle. With a low water level, they can effectively block the route. It is forbidden to loiter under the bridge for 300 m in front of and beyond the bridge. This means it is not possible to move the kayaks along the bank. Regardless of the state of the water, you can go around the area on the right side, but this can be a bit risky for two reasons.

First, you can be accused ofillegally crossing the border, because this place is almost on the right bank of the river, although the centre of the main current is right there. Secondly, the water accelerates strongly there, creating a strong backflow and you need to be very careful
not to capsize the kayak. If you choose a path closer to the leftbank, you should try to slowly get pastthe protruding elements, so as not to stop the kayak on an obstacle perpendicular to the river current. If you choose to kayak through the right bank, then concentrate, keep the
paddle firmly ready for use, but try not to make unnecessary, sudden movements. Along the way, you can expect to find some pretty nice camping spots.
